Summary
This exhibition documents events during the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. It draws from the thousands of personal stories, oral histories, and photographs collected by the "Voices of Civil Rights" project sponsored by AARP, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR), and the Library of Congress. The intent of the project was to collect and preserve personal narratives of America's Civil Rights Movement that will be permanently housed at the Library of Congress, and these contemporary materials are complemented by the historical photographs and posters from the Library's rich archive of civil rights materials
